Peter Ravensbergen
Peter Ravensvergen is Expertise Leader Horticulture at Wageningen Economic Research at Wageningen University. He specializes in sustainability fresh supply chains. He focuses on strategy and sector developments. His ambition is to translate knowledge from global private companies into research proposals, enabling the companies to develop further. He also has international network experiences: United States, Mexico, Argentina, the Philippines, (Eastern) Europe and the Balkans. He recently graduated from Controlled Environment Agriculture Ecosystem in Kentucky (United States). As the son of a Dutch flower farmer, he is very driven to gain knowledge between R&D and practice. His career characterizes his position in the playing field of governmental organizations and advisory companies.

Laura Bautista is the head of the Fartical Farming project at Delphy. She has a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology and International Agriculture from Pennsylvania State University (United States). In addition, she holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Agricultural Sciences and Engineering from the University of Cordoba (Spain). Its mission is to help Indoor/Vertical Farming become a commercial and stable production system by improving indoor crop production. She sees Indoor/Vertical Farming as an opportunity to improve food security, sustainability and human nutrition in a modern society. Especially in a climate that changes at a rapid pace.

Pieter Vlaar
Pieter is a decisive project manager with demonstrable experience & expertise in the implementation of sustainability issues (e.g. in Food & Agri, energy and Supply Chain Management) but also financing questions. As a part-time HBO lecturer, he also coaches and teaches students in these areas. Pieter obtained a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering & Management Science (specialization in logistics and supply chain management) at Eindhoven University of Technology. In addition, he obtained his teaching qualification at Aeres Hogeschool Wageningen, followed banking courses at Rabobank as well as various agricultural practical courses and vocational training in flower bulb cultivation (level 4).

Eric Poot, manager of the research team Crop management and Cultivation of Greenhouse crops and Flower bulbs. Eric has been working at the Unit Greenhouse Horticulture of Wageningen Plant Research since 1998. He is particularly interested in innovations with the potential to make the Dutch horticulturist more competitive and more sustainable. He is an active member of the Greenport West-Holland network and one of the founding fathers of the Fieldlab Vertical Farming.

John Bijl
John Bijl, with his parent company Vitro Plus, has over 32 years of experience in vertical fern cultivation and also 10 years of experience in growing vegetables and herbs under LED in climate cells. Own Greens stands out for its unique, simple and reliable technology. This technology works on a smaller scale but its simplicity also makes it very suitable for large-scale automation in countries such as Japan, where it offers clear added value compared to conventional technology. We are happy to share our knowledge within the Fieldlab because we recognise that, as a start-up company within this young sector, we can develop ourselves faster through cooperation and also help others.

I am Gert-Jan van Staalduinen, ceo and owner at Logiqs Ltd. Starting from a graduate internship from Physics at Logiqs, I have held various positions in control, design and sales. At Logiqs, we design and supply complete mobile cultivation systems, for a greenhouse or a vertical farm, often automated with shuttles and lifts. Using similar machines, we also make automated pallet storage systems.

Plant specialist within the Philips Horticulture department of Signify. My background is in horticulture and biology and I am already active in the indoor farming industry for roughly 8 years. In my role I am kind of a consultant and researcher for all our indoor farming related projects. I make the translation of our R&D results towards tangible business opportunities for our customers. I am aiming for continuous, healthy (business and food wise) and sustainable production in the world, making use of the most logical and promising production methods per crop and per region.
